In crawl spaces, excess moisture or condensation is a common problem. Evaporation of soil moisture causes constant condensation in crawl spaces. This high-humidity atmosphere is the perfect breeding ground for mold, mildew, and fungus. This not only damages the structure but also reduces the air quality. Crawl space encapsulation is the only solution to this problem.
Innovative Restoration has been leading the industry by providing the best crawl space encapsulation service since 2009. Our services are available in Knoxville, Greenback, Loudon, and surrounding areas nearby. Feel free to contact us if you're interested in learning more about our crawl space encapsulation service.
Innovative Restoration’s Crawl Space Encapsulation Process
Although the specification of encapsulation varies from crawl space to crawl space, we follow the procedure below:
Inspection: First, our experts will inspect the current state of the crawl space to determine what needs to be done. We won't install new insulation until we've checked it for mold, vermin, and water damage.
Insulation and Air Sealing: Next, we seal vents, holes, and gaps around ducts and plumbing with spray foam insulation. We spray this foam on the walls to create an airtight seal that insulates and prevents moisture.
Installation of Vapor Barrier: We then install a heavy-duty vapor barrier to seal the crawl space. We seal sections with tape to prevent airflow. By sealing and taping the barrier around piers and pillars, we guarantee a tight seal.
Installation of Dehumidifier: We conclude the encapsulation process by installing a dehumidifier. This prevents condensation and mold growth by maintaining the crawl space's humidity year-round.
